Two or three questions

1. Molly it seems has been struggling at times to get up off the ground. She is still very active when we are outside and runs with no complications but when she was a puppy she had her left hip operated on for hip displaysia. They told me then that she may someday have to have the right side done. Do you think it is worth x-raying her to see if there are complications or maybe it is just her getting older.

2. I have some "older" Rimadyl pills that I used to give Onyx for her hips. Do you think it is safe to give them to Molly if I cut the dose in half? I think a full does would knock her out :)

Hey - sorry for the delayed response.

Arthritis in the hips can certainly cause Molly to be a little slow getting up. If the Rimadyl isn't helping her mobility then X-rays may help us understand her discomfort better. Call me with the size Rimadyl you have and I will let you know how to dose it safely.
