Are these chewy things ok for the little doggers on a fairly regular basis? I always worry about expansion of such materials in doggers tummies. They sure enjoy them and I have to say I dont mind the time out when they arent terrorizing me....

I've recommended raw hide chews for years. Lately I've been shying away from them since I seem to be seeing more intestinal upset, contamination, and blockages. Your mileage may vary :D
As for Pig's ears - pretty much that same thing. Anything from a biological origin has the risk of contaminants or spoilage.
I prefer sythetic chew treats like Nylabone and Greenies -- among others.

I never had a problem with my dogs chewing the rawhide bones for many years. Then it seems like my two dogs both got severely sick in a few months time. The food had not changed and the only thing new introduced to them was the rawhide chews I had given them at different times but some quick medicine by the Doc cleared the intestinal problems up.
I am very cautious now on what I give to Molly and I stick to the national brands and not the cheaper stuff. (She is worth it)

I use the rawhides with Lexi. She gets oneevery day or two to help with the chewing... I only give them to her when I am around to watch her. She usually gets a know off and then hides the rest of it in my couch or bed. She loves them and it keeps her teeth really white. I have never brushed her teeth and they look really good!
