Perhaps through this forum decisions can be made now with reason instead of later with emotion.
We have a 14 year old lab that is of course an integral part of the family. She is healthy now, but, reality dictates we will be making a difficult decision in the near future. What are our options when she passes? A cemetery plot seems over the top as well as taxidermy. A hole in the back yard seems to be the other extreme. My personal choice would be cremation. Is this service even provided? Is it expensive? Any input on this topic would be appreciated.

Hey Mike, sorry for the delayed response. Cremation is by far the most popular choice for handling your pets remains. I personally would choose it as well. The price varies and is usually based on size of your pet and if you chose to have the ashes returned or not.

Hope this helps.

I would have to say it is by far the most popular choice. A few people take their pets home for burial after they are deceased, but most opt for cremation.

Mr. Davis has been handling cremations for me for as long as I've been a veterinarian (13 years). He is truely kind and sincere and has always done a great job.
